Business Development and Alliances Associate

Position Overview
The Business Development and Alliances Associate will report to and assist the Director, Business Development and Strategic Alliances in managing business development initiatives and cross-company alliances. This individual will generate materials supporting BD initiatives, manage interactions, and support the Business Development function at Vyriad. This individual will also engage with multi functional teams at Vyriad and collaborating companies to develop alliance-related project plans, milestones, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage relationships with existing and potential partners in a timely, professional manner
- Engage with R&D Project Teams to develop and execute project plans; deliver on project milestones
- Effectively summarize key information such as program goals, risks/opportunities, and progress/ timeline updates for periodic presentation to management
- Compile succinct reports for select meetings, methodically track action items, and stay abreast of R&D collaboration tasks and activities
- Regularly interact with multiple functional areas
- Additional activities as required
Education requirements:
- Graduate degree in a business or life sciences related field
- Demonstrated ability to manage through influence
Experience and skill requirement:
- Superior communicator (verbal, written, listening) cross functionally throughout the organization; communicates complex ideas across project boundaries, gaining alignment and persuading others to take action or adopt a different point of view
- Strong analytic and critical thinking skills are essential in this role. Must have demonstrated capacity to comprehend complex programs and situations. The ability to exercise good judgment while under pressure and tight deadlines, and strong coping skills are required. Must be flexible in adapting to a variety of responsibilities, work assignments, and priorities
- Should be detail-oriented and work independently and productively with minimal direction, routinely exercising initiative and sound judgment
- Able to manage multiple projects effectively, ensuring alignment with department/corporate goals
- Good understanding of key principles of contracts, IP, and value drivers relevant to BD and collaboration activities
